A Review of This Crazy NFL Offseason
Woohoo! First blog post of the new year...in March. I blame the Coronavirus. But, for all the havoc the disease has wrecked upon our world, one realm that remains unfazed is the NFL, where trades and free agent signings have been occurring at an all-time high. I have always wondered why we don’t see more trades in the NFL, and why the trades that do go down always seem to be so horribly one-sided. Well, the trades remain one-sided, but at least there are more of them! And fre

Predicting the first round of the NFL Playoffs
Today marks the kickoff of the 2019 NFL Playoffs, with two games set for both today and tomorrow. This afternoon we will be treated to the Indianapolis Colts vs. the Houston Texans, and tonight’s game features the Seattle Seahawks vs. the Dallas Cowboys. Tomorrow has the Los Angeles (still feels dirty to say) Chargers vs. the Baltimore Ravens and the Philadelphia Nick Foles (I mean Eagles) vs. the Chicago Bears. Let’s preview each matchup and pick a winner. Indianapolis Colts

A quarter-season check-in of the NFL
With Thursday Night Football passing by in underwhelming fashion (as usual), the NFL is full steam ahead for Week 5. With a quarter of the season gone by, let’s look at each team’s performance so far and compare it to pre-season expectations. AFC East Buffalo Bills: Josh Allen has officially taken over the helm and the full rebuild begins. The Bills have scored the second-lowest amount of points (50) so far this season. The defense isn’t quite as sound as last season, and wit

The crazy NFC South
Ryan Fitzpatrick (or as he is affectionately known, Fitzmagic) has been tearing it up these first two weeks of the NFL season. While this does bring to light a surprising start for the previously underwhelming Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it also adds to the continually-growing list of oddities from the NFC South. Let’s take a look at what has made this division so crazy over the past few years. Ryan Fitzmagic This is the most obvious talking point, as the Harvard grad has perfectly

NFL Season outlook for all 32 teams
Yes, the NFL season technically kicked off on Thursday, but if you aren’t an Eagles or a Falcons fan then you’re waiting for Sunday to begin cheering and yelling and crying. With that in mind, let’s take a look at each of the NFL’s 32 teams and what their season outlook is by division. AFC East Buffalo Bills: Trading away Tyrod Taylor signified a desire to go young at the quarterback position, but with number one pick Josh Allen having a rough preseason the duties fall to mis

Da Browns? and three other offseason thoughts
Are the Browns the next 49ers, a team who has a season so bad that the next one (with the help of some fresh faces) can’t possibly be worse? I wasn’t convinced after their trade for Jarvis Landry, for what use is a wide receiver with no one to get him the ball? However, with the ensuing trade for Tyrod Taylor, this team has GUARANTEED themselves at least 2 wins next year. Now it may not sound like a lot, unless you’re a Browns fan, in which case it means the world to you. The

The San Francisco 49ers (specifically their offense)
Ladies and gentlemen, I am a patient child. I try my best at all times to “Keep calm and ___.” I also try to not show favoritism, writing about larger trends rather than my own local teams. But when I watch the 49ers attempt to scrap together a drive, I lose my freakin mind. The ineptitude of one Brian Hoyer is such that I feel like curling into a ball in my room and never watching football again, for I know the next time will be the last (because my head would physically ex

The Future of Football
A recent study conducted by the Journal of the American Medical Association found that 110 of the 111 donated brains of former NFL players had the neurological disease chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). This test confirms (for some) the growing fear that playing football can have a direct detrimental effect on one’s brain. However, the numbers are a little skewed, as the brains were of former NFL players, a pinnacle few in the sport reach. Also, the families of the decea
