Hello Again! 2019-2020 NBA Season Preview
Guess what? I’m back baby! Sure, I may have gone on a little hiatus there but it was totally intentional and had nothing to do with summer and then the start of college. My phone was kind enough to alert me the other day that the 2019-2020 NBA season is right around the corner, and I figured what better way to (try to) get back into blogging than by spewing out 2,000 words of basketball analysis! Buckle up folks, because it’s gonna be another ride. As is customary, I will be

A look back at some of the MLB's early season trends
About 20 games into this baseball season, I took a look at six teams who were either severely outperforming or underperforming on their expectations for the year and decided whether those trends were likely to continue. 40 games into the future and with a much clearer view of how the MLB is shaking out, let’s revisit those teams and see how they’ve since played, as well as once again predict whether they can sustain their current level (or even improve upon it). Boston Red So

A look at the first round of the NBA Playoffs
With the first four games of the NBA Playoffs set to tip off today, let’s provide an analysis and prediction of each matchup we will see in the opening round. Are you ready for some playoff basketball?! Philadelphia 76ers (3) v.s. Brooklyn Nets (6) Before anything let me just say congratulations to the Nets. Just a year ago you might have (like me) considered them to be one of the most feeble franchises in sports, but they made some smart moves and developed their youngsters

2019 MLB Preview
It’s that time of year again, where fly balls and fungoes abound and a tiny cohort of unsigned stars hang out in Florida waiting to get $20 million above market. That’s right, the MLB season has begun, and baseball fans such as myself couldn't be happier. Now although some games have passed, every team is still statistically in the Postseason hunt, so let’s take a look at the 2019 season for each MLB squad and either affirm that ambition or crush some dreams. Cue random order

Potential turnaround teams in the MLB
With the addition of Bryce Harper, many are pegging Philadelphia as the new favorites in the NL East (remember they also got J.T. Realmuto earlier this offseason AND Jean the Hit Machine Segura). Of course, Manny Machado signed with his own version of a losing team, albeit one that lost far more often and easily than the Phillies last year, but nevertheless improvement is expected in San Diego. So while some notable free agents remain unsigned (Dallas Keuchel, Craig Kimbrel,

A Midseason Review of the NBA
We’ve just passed the halfway mark of the NBA season, so let’s check in with each team and possibly update some predictions. Detroit Pistons (17-23, 9th in Eastern Conference) It’s safe to say Detroit has had a disappointing season so far. I truly thought Dwayne Casey would push this team over the hump, but while their amazing frontcourt of Griffin and Drummond has dazzled, the rest of the team seems to have lost its fire from last year (the loss of Ish Smith for over a month

Predicting NFL Divisional Winners
With Week 8 of the NFL season set to continue tomorrow, we’re just about halfway through the 2018-2019 football year. Now that each team has some games under their belt, let’s take a look at the favorites to win each division (at least in my mind). AFC East: New England Patriots This has become a tradition now. They start the year a little unsteady, Brady gets fired up, the media calls the end of the Evil Empire, they grab a big win and they get back to their winning ways. No

2018-2019 NBA Season Preview
With the 2018-2019 NBA Season set to tip off this Tuesday, let’s take a look at each team’s prospect for the coming year. And for fun, let’s do them in the same order as my predictions from last year. Detroit Pistons Wait, Van Gundy is gone? For real? Praise Jesus hallelujah! They lost Tobias Harris and Avery Bradley who I thought were big pieces of their future, but they managed to pair Andre Drummond with Blake Griffin, so buckle-up poster makers. If Reggie Jackson can fina

A quarter-season check-in of the NFL
With Thursday Night Football passing by in underwhelming fashion (as usual), the NFL is full steam ahead for Week 5. With a quarter of the season gone by, let’s look at each team’s performance so far and compare it to pre-season expectations. AFC East Buffalo Bills: Josh Allen has officially taken over the helm and the full rebuild begins. The Bills have scored the second-lowest amount of points (50) so far this season. The defense isn’t quite as sound as last season, and wit

A look at the upcoming NBA free agents
The NBA season is finally over, and we could’ve all predicted this outcome eight months ago; the Golden State Warriors are, once again, champs. Obviously LeBron speculation was rampant following the Cavs’ blowout loss in Game 4, but there are plenty of other marquee free agents out there that should make things interesting this summer. Let’s run through a list of them and maybe predict where they will go (or at least where their best fit is). For the sake of not writing a 300
