A Review of This Crazy NFL Offseason
Woohoo! First blog post of the new year...in March. I blame the Coronavirus. But, for all the havoc the disease has wrecked upon our world, one realm that remains unfazed is the NFL, where trades and free agent signings have been occurring at an all-time high. I have always wondered why we don’t see more trades in the NFL, and why the trades that do go down always seem to be so horribly one-sided. Well, the trades remain one-sided, but at least there are more of them! And fre

Reactions to the Trade Deadline
Now that the dust has REALLY settled (couldn’t be so sure with only one deadline this year), we can finally take a look at what all went down on July 31st (and a few goings on in the preceding weeks). Basically what I’m trying to say is trades happened, and they happened fast, so let’s put on our thinking caps and expertly analyze some of them. Since I have some dignity, I will be going in strict chronological order. Sorry for the delayed post here, I ran down a bit of a rabb

A rollercoaster of a free agency
Is it over yet? (head peeks out from under bed) Are they done? Has the dust finally settled? Well shucks, I wish I could answer that question, but NBA free agency has long been one of the craziest sporting events of the year. Within the course of a few days, the entire league was flipped on its head, and we are now faced with more parity than seemingly ever-before. All-Star duos have flocked to every corner of the county, and other teams have done their part to remain competi

Winners and Losers from the NFL Draft
Barring another Tom Brady, we can safely say the important part of the NFL Draft is all but over with the fifth round wrapping up. That being said, let’s take a look at which teams were the most (and least) successful in Nashville. Winners Denver Broncos: Talk about filling all your needs. The Broncos were quick to address their deficiencies, taking Noah Fant in the first round to give them an immediate upgrade with a pass-catching tight end. They were even luckier when Dalto

Checking in on our players to watch for each NBA team
Now that the calendar has turned to April, we are at the end of another NBA season. There were surprises and sure-things, ups and downs, resurgent years and regressors. At the beginning of this season, I picked one player to watch for each NBA team, so with 79 games in the rearview mirror let’s take a look back at those players and see how they fared over the course of 2018-2019. Atlanta Hawks: Taurean Prince, SF Prince actually got less playing time this season, most likely

2019 MLB Preview
It’s that time of year again, where fly balls and fungoes abound and a tiny cohort of unsigned stars hang out in Florida waiting to get $20 million above market. That’s right, the MLB season has begun, and baseball fans such as myself couldn't be happier. Now although some games have passed, every team is still statistically in the Postseason hunt, so let’s take a look at the 2019 season for each MLB squad and either affirm that ambition or crush some dreams. Cue random order

Antonio Brown, the clown
Since when did players get to decide where they were getting traded, or if they were going to be traded at all? This issue seemed to really gain traction in the NBA when, two years ago, Paul George told Indiana he was guaranteed to leave them in free agency, forcing the Pacers to trade George before he could hit the open market (though I must say the trade worked out handsomely for both sides). Then Kyrie Irving had enough of LeBron James. Then Kawhi Leonard pulled a George o

Another post on the NBA Trade Deadline
Yes, I am well aware that I have already written a post concerning the buy v sell decision that bubble teams in the NBA face every season, but with the Trade Deadline only five days away I felt now was as good a time as any to revisit the topic. There have been some changes since my last post, both in regards to teams’ competitiveness and trade rumors, so let’s look at all the periphery squads and what their best course of action is. Eastern Conference Detroit Pistons (22-28,

One team from each division in the MLB that could shake things up
Trades and signings in the MLB offseason have started to gain some traction here, and there have been some surprisingly active (and dormant) teams so far. Let’s look at one team from each division that can shake things up come 2019. AL East Tampa Bay Rays: Shrouded by the Oakland Athletics’ magical 97-win campaign, the Rays actually compiled 90 wins of their own last season. It may seem as if they have been rebuilding, what with trades of Corey Dickerson, Chris Archer, Evan L

Trade Season in the NBA
Has the NBA trade market begun to move before that of the MLB? Though the deadline for deals in the Association lies on February 7th, we have already seen one team try, then fail, then somewhat succeed in boosting their middling roster. And while we’re on that subject, can I point out how absolutely ridiculous the whole Suns-Grizzlies-Wizards trade drama was? Not that I really need to, but this is professional basketball with guys who make millions to do things such as, I don
